History of the Earl Award
The Earl Award was named in honor of Earl Bargainner, a renowned scholar in mystery and detective fiction and one of the founding members of our caucus. Prior to the conference, the award committee considers the papers from the previous conference's first-time presenters and selects a winner. The winner receives a certificate and recognition at the area business meeting.
